Nikki

Nikki
Nicholas This old fellow was close to fifteen when his beloved owner died. He was picked up from his caretaker by Theo acting on behalf of NABTW and made the trek from New England to Ithaca, NY. Here he was fostered by Marg and then Genie. He had some health issues and was desperately in need of a dental but it was felt he deserved a chance, especially when a home came up with Philipa in MI (see Django above).
Nicky survived the dental and duly moved to the Sahiner household, joing BT Tumnus, "street rescue" Parker-not-a-BT and weekly visiting BT, Sensei.
In the months that have followed, the change in Nicky has been remarkable. A testament to what a difference a loving forever home can make to even an old dog. Although he likes to sleep a lot as befits a venerable gentleman his age, he also enjoys his daily walks and wrestling with Tumnus, almost twelve years hus Junior.
Nicky celebrated his fifteenth birthday on February 26, 2011.

Sadly, Nicholas went to wait at the Rainbow Bridge on August 2nd, 2011. You can read a wonderful tribute to this stoic senior here

Kipper
Kipper This displaced young man was flown from Texas to New York where his new owners picked him up to take him home to Ottawa

Mac and Zipper
Mac & Zipper Adopting these two life-long pals together was a criteria for NABTW and thanks to the patience of their foster family (Betsy and Cindy), they were able to find their forever home with David and Kathy Boiano.
Click here to learn why adopting a senior (or two) can be so very rewarding

We were saddened to learn of Zipper's passing in February 2009 but Mac enjoyed a new friend in Chelsea - another "special needs" Border who landed on her feet with David and Kathy. Mac went to join his buddy Zipper at the Bridge in March of 2012 at the ripe old age of 16.

Adam
Adam in January 2004

Adam When 11 year-old Adam's elderly caregiver moved to an assisted living facility and was no longer able to take care of him, Adam was surrendered to local animal control in Oklahoma.
Kudos to the NABTW Reps who put Christmas on hold to get Adam into a foster home. Finally, after a 2000 mile trek, Adam arrived in his "forever home" in Ontario on January 10, 2004.
Distance is no object when it comes to placing a BT in the right home.
Adam is pictured in his new home in January.
Sadly, Adam's new found buddy, Eric Dunham passed away in the summer of 2004. Click here to read how the exchange of love between the Dunham family and Adam will live on for generations to come

It was with great sadness that we learned that Adam followed his friend Eric to the Rainbow Bridge in 2005. Gwynneth Dunham joined them at the bridge on August 15, 2008.

Mandy
Mandy Click here to read how cooperation between NABTW, CBTW and a shelter found this senior girl her new forever home.
After 6 years in the best home she could possibly wish for, Mandy succumbed to cancer on May 17, 2012 just shy of her fifteenth birthday. Sleep well old girl you were truly "well loved".
